Statement of Faith
Statement One: Holy Scripture
We believe that the 66 books of the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired, inerrant written Word of God and the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men and the Divine and final authority for Christian life and faith.
(I Cor. 2:7-14; II Tim. 3:15; II Peter. 1:2-4; Heb. 4:12)
Statement Two: God, The Father
We believe that there is but one living and true God, an infinite, all-knowing Spirit, perfect in all His attributes, one in essence, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, each deserving worship and obedience.
(John 1:18; Isaiah 45:5-7; I Cor. 8:4)
Statement Three: God, the Son
We believe that Jesus Christ, the second person of the Trinity, possesses all the divine excellencies, and is thus co-equal and co-eternal with the Father. We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ was virgin born; that He was God incarnate; and that His purpose was to reveal God, redeem man, and rule over God’s kingdom.
(Isaiah 7:14; Matt. 1:23, 25; John 1:1, 14-18; Heb. 7:25,26)
Statement Four: God, the Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is divine, eternal and uncreated, possessing all the attributes of deity and is thus co-equal and co-eternal with the Father and the Son.
(Matt. 28:19; I Cor. 2:9-10, 12:4-6; II Cor. 13:14)
Statement Five: Man
We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore, naturally depraved and eternally lost and that only through the sovereign will of God, the convicting power of His Word and the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.
(Gen. 2:16, 17; John 3:36; Rom. 3:23; I John 1:8)
Statement Six: Salvation
We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and his resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation to all who by faith alone believe, and only such as receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are born of the Holy Spirit and, thus, become the children of God.
(John 1:12-13; I Peter 2:24; Rom. 3:25; 5:8-9)
Statement Seven: Election
We believe that election is the act of God by which, before the foundation of the world, He sovereignly chooses in Christ those whom He graciously regenerates, redeems, sanctifies and ultimately glorifies.
(Rom. 8:28-30; Eph. 1:4-11; II Thess. 2:13; II Tim. 2:10; I Peter 1:1-2)
Statement Eight: The Ordinances
We believe that the Lord’s Supper and believer’s baptism by immersion in water are to be observed by the church today according to the command and example of our Lord Jesus Christ.
(Acts 8:36-39; Rom. 6:1-11; Luke 22:14-20; I Cor. 10:16; 11:28-32)
Statement Nine: The Church
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church which is composed only of such persons who through saving faith in Him have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit who, at that time, immediately causes the believer to become one with the universal body of Christ, a member of the Bride of Christ and an integral part of its spiritual and practical whole.
(I Cor. 12:12-13; Eph. 5:23-32; Col. 1:18; Rev. 19:7-8)
Statement Ten: The Future
We believe in the personal, pre-millennial and imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and that this “Blessed Hope” has a vital bearing on the personal conduct and service of the saint who is to live a life of anxious expectancy coupled with diligence and patience as we await His return. Further, we believe that those who perish without faith in Christ will be consigned to eternal, conscious punishment in Hell separated from the gracious presence of God while those who have trusted Christ for salvation will be resurrected to live with Him eternally in the new heaven and new earth where they will enjoy the everlasting glory and favor of God.
(John 14:1-6; Eph. 5:5; I John 3:1-3; Rev. 20:11-15)
